Another world's first! Fengze Power assists Yunnan Energy Investment Honghe Power Plant's 700MW ultra supercritical circulating fluidized bed unit in grid connected power generation.

When General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Yunnan, he pointed out that Yunnan should strengthen, optimize, and expand resource-based industries with scientific and technological innovation as the lead. On March 21, the world's first 700MW ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) coal-fired power generator unit at Yunnan Energy Investment Honghe Power Plant expansion project was successfully connected to the grid and began generating power.

The supporting power grid system access project specially constructed by China Southern Power Grid Honghe Power Supply Bureau for this project was also put into operation simultaneously. As a "top priority" project and part of Yunnan Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" new 4.8 million kW coal power capacity, it is the world's first 700MW ultra-supercritical CFB unit to be approved, commenced construction, and connected to the grid for power generation. In 2024, the project was successfully selected for the national fourth batch of major technical equipment (first unit/set) in the energy sector list, and it sets a new benchmark for the global development of circulating fluidized bed technology with its outstanding technological innovation, efficient organizational management, and leading energy-saving and environmental protection performance.
